For this home in the Perth suburb of Floreat, the owners wanted to change their existing patio to something that extended the full-length at the rear of the house.
The intricate design of this space also included a beautiful bay window the captured the afternoon sunlight that the owners wanted to keep.
Light to this space was key as they also wanted to maintain some of the morning sun which meant raising the patio.
Given space and angles to work with our design consultant worked with the owners to come up with a raised skillion patio.
The extra height of the skillion would ensure that the bay window and large glass doors would filter the afternoon sun into the house and with the rise at the house end it also meant that some light would still make its way into this area in the morning.
Keeping it light was key with the frame and posts all done in Colorbond Surfmist with the insulated Solarspan roof also in Surfmist to match. Surfmist was a perfect match to the existing home as the existing home was also in white.
It is this colouring that accentuates the sunlight and keeps the area looking bright.
